Welcome to the Victoria County MPO Website!
What is a MPO? MPO is short for Metropolitan Planning Organization.
The MPO is a group of individuals charged with overseeing the distribution
of Federal & State Transportation Dollars within a defined area.
An MPO is required by Federal Law for any City that has population
of 50,000 or larger. In addition to overseeing the allocation of Transportation
Dollars, this group is responsible for planning current and future
transportation improvements and provides an avenue for public input
and representation. The Victoria MPO is a 10 member board representing
all of the governing bodies within Victoria County that have the ability
to maintain, change or create projects for ALL modes of transportation.
We invite you to visit this site and to take an interest in how transportation
whether it is by car, truck, bus, bicycle or by foot impacts your
daily routine. Everyone depends on transportation in some form or
fashion for the movement of goods, services and people.
We cannot always see what is out there and need to hear the comments
and concerns of the Citizens of Victoria County.
Thanks for your time!

2035 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is now availible.
The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is a document that provides a vision and expresses the values of the public. Federal legislation states that any area that has a continuous population of 50,000 or more must write a 25-year MTP that is updated every five years. Because of growth and rapid change, it is important to revisit the vision and values of the people in the area regularly to make sure that the plan still reflects the region. The MPO and updates allow the public to have a voice in transportation decisions.
